The Aurora is the lightest and cheapest wooden table from the Oakworks®
range.
This, however does not mean it is an inferior table.
On the contrary, it is a strong table which meets the very high
Oakworks® quality standards.
A great number of (patented) engineering gadgets have been implemented
on this table to give it optimal strength, durability and user
friendlyness:
Details make the difference!!!
CableLock™ Understructure
We've licensed this old favorite, the CableLock, for our Aurora,
the lightest weight and most budget conscious wooden table model
we build here at Oakworks®.
Simple, reliable and time-proven to be a serviceable design,
it marries economy and portability to provide an excellent alternative
in a wooden portable table.
Engineered for lighter loads, the CableLock is easy to use and quite
durable, providing a career's worth of dependable service and reliable
support.
InterLock™ leg extension
Our Inter-Lock™ leg extensions have a unique integrated surface-to-surface
design which ensures truly reliable strength and durability at all height
settings.
You'll notice the extra groove-on-groove, wood-on-wood contact.
Compare it to any other portable table leg extension.
The cross sectional area of our leg extension is greater than any other
table on the market.
Taken together, these factors make our legs three times stronger and less
susceptible to failure.
Since leg extensions are the most vulnerable part of any portable treatment
table, stronger leg extensions mean a stronger, more durable, more reliable
table.
Crack-proof nylon leg blocks
Unlike wooden leg blocks, Oakworks®' nylon blocks are specially engineered
to be indestructible, long-wearing and unsplittable for unsurpassed
strength, safety and durability.
We switched to nylon leg blocks because wooden ones, especially those made
from softer woods like poplar, are prone to split under stress and over
time will loosen their hold on the table legs.
A split leg block can mean catastrophic table failure.
A loose joint means a wobbly table.
Nylon leg blocks won't split and don't wear the way wooden ones do.
Our specially designed molds mean consistent accuracy and reliable
strength and stiffness for every table we build.
And using nylon means real toughness and long-wearing dependability.
Integra-hinge™
This ingenious, patented design reinforces the table to support the kind
of heavy loading that no piano hinge can match and with less weight.
The truth is that the Integra-hingeTM is far superior to a piano hinge,
in strength, stability, safety and durability.
Here's why: The Integra-hinge™ requires fewer holes drilled into the
framework of the table.
This means a stronger frame, without those vulnerabilities to cracking.
In addition, the Integra-hinge™ incorporates the table braces as part
of the hinge itself.
This means that the very weight of the table and the client serve to
strengthen the ability of the hinge to do its job.
An Integra-hinge™ will perform its function even if all the screws are
removed.
"Finger-jointed" frame corners
All Oakworks® portable tables boast durable wood frames with precision finger-jointed corners, glued and bradded, to ensure maximum strength and frame integrity - real added strength and stability through exacting geometry and fine joinery.
6 mm End panels
These extra strong 6 mm Baltic Birch end panels eliminate sway, resist
cracking and ensure stability.
The strength of the end panel is what keeps the table from twisting
and rocking under heavy loads. It may seem like a small thing, but it
has a very big responsibility.
Single-knob height adjustment
Our distinctive wooden knobs proudly bear the Oakworks Logo, while
firmly holding the leg extensions in place.
Resistant to oil and dirt, they allow for quick and easy adjustability
with a rubber grip around the outside edge to help keep oily hands from
slipping.
Though some manufacturers are of the opinion that two knobs are better
than one, therapists have found that two knobs on a leg extension mean
twice as much time and trouble.
In addition, engineers have determined that two knobs do not increase
leg extension strength; that in fact, the increased numbers of holes two
knobs require, can weaken leg extension strength and even increase the
likelihood of table failure.
UniLock™ closure system
Patented, easy-to-use closure system that won't break, rust or rattle
because it's constructed from engineered plastics, cycle tested to ensure
security and durability.
The safety design and low profile prevent scrapes and bruises and, even
when used with the Shiatsu option, rotates flush with the frame edge to
prevent marred floors.
Practically invisible and amazingly simple, you can open your table with
just the push of a single button.
Yet it holds securely and stays out of your way.
The simplest operation ever: just push the table halves together and the
table is locked.
You save time, effort and you barely even have to bend down.
